On Tuesday this week I went to a local garden centre to purchase some Privet to repair our hedge. It was a rainy miserable cold day, up to my eyeballs in soaking wet wood chips that had been laid down to sop up the water, but I did get two plants which we thought would be enough. Took them to the cash out counter and paid for them.
That evening we decided two more were needed, so back to the garden center yesterday. A better day weather wise, but still soggy underfoot, I picked up two more plants and again took them to the counter to pay for them.
The young girl rang in my purchase and told me the price. "How come these cost me more than the ones I bought yesterday" I said, "They are the same variety of plant" She proceeded to tell me, "Yesterday was seniors day, you got a discount". "I am still a senior today, can I get the discount?" I said. Well, all the staff started laughing, thought my response was priceless. The cashier then said "You still get the one year guarantee". "That's fine," I said, "But I may not be here in a year". More laughter.
One of the staff, said that I made her day.
Laughter is the best medicine, so they say.
Have a great day.

Pinch, Punch the first of the month
May 1st, however, we have been forecast April showers again, but warmer temps, so hope Mother Nature, get this rain out of her system.
No flooding where I live, however, many parts of Easter Canada are under metres of water, cannot imagine what it is like to have your house filling up with water, and knowing there is nothing you can do to protect your property.
Last night I went out to dinner with "girls" I use to work with, nice to catch up on what they are doing now. All but two of them are also now retired, the two who are still working will be either looking for a new job or retiring soon. Apparently the building that has been the head office of the company we worked for has now been sold and in two years a lease on the office space they now occupy will expire. The company has been on a down hill slid for many years, so surprised it is still in business. The company has offices in the U.S. and in Canada, and when the Canadian portion of the business was sold to the U.S. a lot of the jobs were transferred to the U.S. office. The years since then has seen more and more of the jobs being done in the U.S. Sign of the times.
My sewing machine is currently being cleaned and given a tune up, so no sewing being done at the present time. Time to clean up the sewing room. Found some UFO's that should be finished, they are first on the to do list when I get the machine back, in the mean time fabric to be sorted, magazines to be gotten rid of and a general de clutter. Where does all this stuff come from, I swear it multiplies over night.
Going back to my heading, did you ever say that when you were a child?
Have a wonderful day.
