It's August already, where has this Summer gone? Today is starting out nice and sunny, we had a heavy shower yesterday, so time to go out and pull some weeds from the flower beds. They seem to grow no matter what the weather.
The dark purple clematis is covered with blooms, holding the plant is place with extra wood and some heavy string. Last year it produced only a few blooms, a lovely display this year.
Finished the quilt for my youngest great granddaughter recently, however, have to wait for my long arm quilter to return from her vacation so I can get it quilted, then I can bind it and gift it. It's cute, with elephant's appliqued on it, not my favourite thing to do, however, not such a problem using the sewing machine to blanket stitch around the design, after fusing it down. I will post photo's when it is all finished.
My late Mother was in a nursing home in a small town facility, earlier this year I made a scrap quilt which they auctioned off to raise funds for activities for the residents. I am going to make another in time for Christmas, so it can be auctioned to raise additional funds. Just my way of donating to the home. Going to purchase the fabric I need tomorrow, Christmas season will be here before we know it, so better get it started.
My youngest granddaughter, (17 years), this Summer is attending a flying school, run through the Air Cadet program. On the weekend she did a three and half hour solo cross country flight. Glad I knew after the fact, or I would be worrying. So proud of her.
Well, like I said, gardening to do before it get too hot, so bye for now.
Have a wonderful day.
